Healthy posture is more than just looking good and is often overlooked as an essential part of our health and well-being.  Unhealthy posture is related to many illnesses and degenerative processes, such as headaches, Jaw issues, and early degenerative conditions of the spine, hips and knees, to name a few.  It can also impact how we breathe and digest our foods.

Optimal posture is essential not only when we are standing but also when we sit and lie down at night to sleep.  Poor posture puts excessive stress on our bones, discs, fascia, ligaments and muscles, accelerating our body's degenerative process as we age.

Unhealthy postures can also affect our mood and state of mind.  Slumped posture has been shown to activate a depressive state in our bodies, which, in turn, can put us in a mental depressive state as well.  As a little experiment, the next time you are feeling depressed, walk around for 15 minutes with a tall, healthy posture and watch your mood improve as well.

Healthy posture should be started at a young age and maintained throughout our lifetime.  But it is never too late to improve your posture; it may take longer.

I have helped hundreds of patients improve their posture with spinal correction and home care.  This has enabled them to prevent chronic back and neck pain from returning, as well as improving their mobility and range of motion.  It's easier than you think.
